ABOUT US
The Church of the Nazarene is a church committed to the mission of Jesus Christ and the expansion of God’s Kingdom on earth. Our identity is based on three essential pillars: we are a Christian people, a people of holiness, and a people with a mission.
Our central mission is clear and inspired by the words of Christ in Matthew 28:19: “Go and make disciples of all nations.” We believe that the primary reason for our existence is to preserve and spread Christian holiness, as taught in the Holy Scriptures. Therefore, we work tirelessly to advance God’s Kingdom, bringing the love of Christ and His teachings to every corner of the world.
As a Christian people, we recognize that our identity is grounded in Jesus Christ, the foundation of our faith. We are called to live according to His teachings, reflecting His love, grace, and truth in every area of our lives. Furthermore, we are a people of holiness. We believe that God calls us to live lives that honor His holiness, constantly seeking purity of heart and sanctification through the Holy Spirit.
We believe that the church should be a beacon of hope and transformation in the world. Our vision is to be a discipling and worshiping church, committed to ministering to the world through evangelism and compassion. We aim to guide every member of our community toward Christian holiness, equipping them to live and share the faith in a meaningful and impactful way.
In our journey, we seek to be faithful to the mission entrusted to us, knowing that we are called not only to follow Christ but to make others His followers, transforming lives and communities into His likeness.
We therefore believe that it is sufficient to believe in the following brief statements:
We believe that there is one God – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
That the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, given by plenary inspiration, contain all the truth necessary for faith and Christian life;
That every human being is born with a corrupted nature and is therefore inclined to evil, and this continually;
That those who remain unrepentant until the end are without hope and lost eternally;
That the atonement through Jesus Christ is for all of humanity; and that those who repent and believe in Him are justified, regenerated, and saved from the dominion of sin;
That believers, after regeneration, should be entirely sanctified by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ;
That the Holy Spirit testifies of the new birth and also of the entire sanctification of believers;
That our Lord will return, the dead will be resurrected, and the final judgment will take place.
